You just sold me on this. twinB is young at heart and we love watching films of this variety together, if only to laugh and have a good time. Reading about your family is reminding me of fond memories of mine. We're as entertained talking about them hours later, discussing unintentional comedy and other things that crack a smile. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent, even better. We'll be sure to prepare the popcorn!

This was a big favorite of mine from TV viewings in the 1970s. I showed this to my son when he was 7 and he loved it! And this was in 2013! It was nice to know that stuff from my childhood can still excite modern kids.

Thank you very much! I'll be sure to share your kind words with him. James was particularly affected by Gwangi's death in the burning church. We must have watched Valley of Gwangi over a dozen times that summer.

He also loves Ralph Bakshi's animated fantasy Wizards and 60s and 70s Japanese Godzilla movies. I haven't been able to convert him to 70s Planet of the Apes films yet, however.

It was the forerunner to the swordman scene in "Raiders of the Last Arc."

I never saw it. But the way you described the scene reminded me of "Raiders."

I didn't take you the wrong way; but thanks anyway.

It's interesting the way a similar scene works in one movie, but not in another. Every time I see that scene in "Raiders" I bust out laughing -- genius-ly entertaining.
