Yeah, I just re-watched the film tonight and Eastwood did look a lot like Wolverine. If only...

You want to talk to God? Let's go see him together, I've got nothing better to do.

I saw Hugh Jackman as a guest on a talk show (Letterman, I think) several years ago. He described meeting Clint Eastwood for the first time.
It was earlier in Hugh's career, either before X-Men or around the time of its 2002 release. He was getting some recognition, but was not widely known. He was not used to attention, and as I recall his description, he would sometimes feel awkward, and at other times want to be recognized.
One day, he was in a line to meet Clint, and as he described, he is suddenly face to face with one of the most famous movie people in the world. His ambivalence about his own celebrity status rose up and threw him into brain lock.
He tells Clint who he is, and then out of nowhere (maybe just wanting validation or approval), starts talking about how a lot of people have told him that he resembles Clint in his earlier pictures, mixed with the typical stuff about being a big fan, etc.
"He looked at me and said, 'You're holdin' up the line, kid.' "

Haha, I had the same thought that Eastwood resembles Wolverine a bit in this film. :)

Wolverine was patterned after Clint Eastwood. The films purposely picked someone to emulate Eastwood for Wolverine.
