If Only

I really enjoy the 1969 version better than the 2010 version although I also enjoyed the latter. I read the book and the one thing I was disappointed with the first version was that LeBeouf lived in the book and died in the movie. I am glad he lived in the 2010 movie. I also did not like the way Mattie ended up in the 2010 movie. Glen Campbell was just getting started and I thought he did alright for a beginner. Wow! I sure wish Elvis Presley had gotten the LeBeouf part. He needed a change of pace and this might have been it. It is amazing how Parker liked to strut that he had made Elvis. Maybe he did in the beginning but he sure caused Elvis Presley to miss a lot of parts that may have helped him break out of the rut that he was in and maybe he could have continued his movie making. Parker saw him as a cash cow meal ticket and he worked him to death. I think Glen Campbell could have been an actor but it is clear that he really wasn't interested. I wish him a peaceful life as he battles something that should happen to no one, Alzheimer's. Rest in peace John Wayne, Elvis Presley, Dennis Hopper and the rest of the gang. You all brightened our lives.
