Love this film, but I have a question about the ending. The last we see of Rafael, he's carrying his lover to safety...and then it's over. What happened to Rafael? Did he die? It looks like something is missing before the credits roll. I notice that the Italian version is five minutes longer than the Spanish version. Perhaps I have the Spanish version. Anyone?

don't the credits roll upon a scene, which shows Sebastian & Rafael riding through the prairie together?
shareYes, but thanks to the credits, I couldn't tell who's who. I clearly saw Sebastian and his sister, but couldn't make out who, if anyone else, was riding with them. It seems rather ludicrous that her lover would still be alive, given that he was injured so badly, and if he was riding double with her, that's stupid, as well. If her lover was alive, wouldn't it have made more sense to put him on his own horse?
shareWhen the credits roll and you see the two horses riding far away on the prairie, the camera zooms on Sebastian who's on the front, then we see the same scene from the back and we can clearly discern two people on the horse at the back, a smaller one seemingly being embraced by another.
Though you can't see their faces I'm pretty certain it's Rafael and Isabella.
I agree, it's Rafael and Isabella on the second horse.
