I'd be pretty discouraged if I was Dracula by this point *spoilers*

Looking at things from Dracula's point of view he must be feeling a bit upset by the way things have gone.

Starting from the original Dracula/Horror of Dracula film he gets destroyed pretty easily by Van Helsing from sunlight.

When he is resurrected in Prince of Darkness he only lasts a few days before being drowned by Father Sandor.

He is resurrected again in Risen when that useless priest cracks his head open and drips blood onto Dracula's frozen body. Again he doesn't last very long and takes few victims. And his method of death leads one to believe that he is not the most intelligent being around, since he himself rushed at Paul leading to his impalement on the cross.

So finally here, when he gets another chance to walk the earth. He gets to take a few victims and last a few more days. However here is probably the ultimate indignity where he is defeated basically by his own mind.

I would just call it a day if it was me and stay dead, and if someone revived me I would dispose of them and then return to eternal sleep. It seems each death he suffers is excruciating and each return lasts just a short while. It must be getting to the point where even Dracula must start to question his own abilities.

Now don't get me wrong, I love these movies. I'm just seeing things from Dracula's point of view.

I never thought of it that way before. But in a weird way it is kind of sad to consider him thinking "This time will be different" and then it isn't. But, as you said, it's good for us as that meant more sequels.

I was thinking the same thing rewatching it last night. Poor Drac, more comebacks than a second hand boomerang.
