Read the novel!

I was looking in my library's catalog for a particular Richard Condon novel, and came up with Gun Crazy, which turned out to be this film. Darned if I know why they renamed it--goodness knows that it's about a lot of things, especially love and sex, but guns don't play much of a part in it.

I'm a big fan of Richard Condon's novels--I admit that they're a little uneven, that there are a few that I find distasteful or clumsy, but books like The Manchurian Candidate, The Ecstasy Business, Mile High, Money Is Love, and The Vertical Smile are IMHO just great. So too is A Talent for Loving, a book that runs the gamut from tragedy to slapstick comedy, and which, after many re-readings, can still make me laugh out loud. Don't see the movie, but those with a particular turn of mind will the book a whole lot of fun.
