I believe you're quite right about all war movies propagating some kind of ideology, many trying very hard to manipulate the viewer into a very narrow point of view. There's a big difference, however, between the authors being able to put in any ideology they please and the government forcing upon them the one and only true ideology. As well as between narrowminded misconceptions and deliberate blatant lies.

"Stawka wieksza niz zycie" isn't too ambitious in regard to shaping some complex notions about the war, history and politics in the viewers' minds. Never mind the serious tone, it's just a spy thriller, comparable to James Bond, or maybe more accurately to "Danger Man" (aka "Secret Agent"), something meant foremost for entertainment purposes. But this doesn't change the fact that the series does contain blatant lies about the cooperation between Poland and Russia in WWII. Which isn't really very suprising, since the truth was, Russia attacked Poland shortly after the Germans did, and, after the end of the war, Poland, now being under Russian occupation, was expected to have the highest regard for it's "protector".
