Can you imagine an american actor doing this? I mean, can you imagine abyone being ABLE to do this? I was just laughing while I was watching this. That is a real man.

I jsut finished to watch it as it pass on tv tonight. Ive already seen it in university but enjoy it once again.. But i was not remembering the scene where he climb and I was very impress too! I mean he show real athletism quality. I dont know if you already know it but he was a boxer before becaming an actor so it explain the broken nose hehe... But Belmondo became a caricature of himself later on... But on his young years as an actor he was pretty good. I like the parralele with the movie '' sin'' an american remake with Anjelina Jolie and Antonio Banderas. Anjelina character is named Julia Russel... Its kinda the same but not really

Or Batman and Robin...!

reply

Yes, a very impressive stunt.

I was surprised (and pleased) to see Belmondo climb up the side of the building, but impressive though it was, I couldn't help but think that the prop crew must have installed some carefully hidden little steps and handholds up the side of the building just for safety's sake.

Can you imagine an american actor doing this?

Actually, yes I could. I can imagine people like Burt Lancaster or other athletic actors doing it. And more recently, Tom Cruise has done a variety of dangerous climbing stunts in his Mission: Impossible movies. Actually, even today, many American actors could do it, but the insurance guys usually won't allow them to do things like that for insurance reasons. So, you'd have to call in the stunt man.

Hehe, I was laughing too. Incredible.
Harrison Ford used to do all his scenes also, untill he hurt his back.:)
