The first ABC Movie of the Week

I will always remember this ABC Movie of the Week because it was the first one. This 90-minute drama followed seven people who survive a plane crash who are all blind. Apparently, the plane was bound for some kind of convention for the blind. Conveniently, the pilot, the stewardess and everyone who had sight on the plane were killed so that we could watch seven people stumble around woods and railroad tracks trying to find their way to civilization. The cast included Sean Garrison, Barry Nelson, Dina Merrill, Lesley Ann Warren and a standout performance by Milton Berle. I sure wish someone would put together a DVD collection of all the ABC Movies of the Week from 1969 to 1974. There are millions who watched these movies every Tuesday and Wednesday night for five years and would love to recapture the memories of these movies which ranged from memorable to cheesy. It was from this series of films where we got classics like BRIAN'S SONG and DUEL with Dennis Weaver.
