At least Sergio got to put on his shirt by the end!

This was a fun and flavorful movie, with a fine cast. Popular 60's singer Sergio Franchi made his American acting debut here, and you could tell he was the "beefcake" interest because he was either shirtless or had his shirt open and unbuttoned for seemingly the entire film until his last scenes! I thought it was rather comical, but he was decent and a pleasing masculine presence - it was a shame he didn't do more roles, even in television, before his untimely passing. I live in Las Vegas, and he was a regular performer here in the 1960's and 70's. My only real quibble with this film, other than chuckling at Sergio's ever-present chest, was the modern look they gave Virna Lisi - she was much more 1969 than 1945 here!

I think the character himself, even made some sort of similar comment about getting his shirt on towards the end of this very long film.

Agreed. The film looks good with great locations and production values, but I'd say much the same thing. Many of the extras and support cast look more 60's Italian, than 40's Italian.🐭
