The comment

I'm not liking the "comment" that comes up for this film and, to be honest, am becoming tired of what's starting to seem like gratuitously critical and clever film-review. I don't see how anyone can write a serious review about this little-cited 1969 film. "...glosses over WW2 atrocities in Italy." In fairness, it's set in a very specific time and location and was never meant to give an overly serious message about the war.

Bumbolini..(waits). BUMBOLINI!!

I feel like someone crapped on my head.

Totally agree and also with your other comment regarding war - time atrocities. The reality is though, this was a commercial flop. It's a two and a half hour, not particularly funny, "war comedy" set in fantastic locations, but simply never resonated that much with international audiences. 🐭
