Holy Garbage! Where'd Konratz' hand go?

With all the talk about missing shots and lines in the DVD release, why has no one brought up the most obvious cut of all: Where does Konratz' hand go during the final battle with Dr Browning?

Vincent Price is swinging away with that gas tank at the guy, but we never see the weapon make any contact. Then, suddenly, after they struggle to their feet, Marshall Jones grabs Price around the neck with an arm showing nothing but a bloody sleeve where his hand should be.

Does anyone recall ever having seen the actual wrist bashing shot -- in the theatrical release or any other video or TV version?

I first saw SASA thirty odd years ago and the scene played the same then as it does now, so I doubt the mystery will ever be solved. I just watched the new Twilight Time blu-ray release and listened to the commentary to see if there might be any illuminating comments, but alas, nothing.

There again, maybe it's not a mystery at all. Marshal Jones very obviously sticks his arm out as Price comes at him with the gas canister and is seen lying in approximately the same position during the pickup shot prior to wrapping his arm around Price's throat; so maybe nothing's missing and we're supposed to assume that the canister smashes his hand to a pulp.

Duck, I says...

I'm watching it now and yes, he does bash his hand with the tank. Konratz is down against the operating room table with his left arm outstretched on it. Price comes down with the tank to the left of his head. The assumption is that he bashed his hand. So really it shouldn't be totally gone but basically bashed.

Weird movie...didn't really like it but it was on TCM and I love checking out old movies on there.
