A famous publicity photo of Capucine (as Tryphaena) holding the hand of a half-naked Hiram Keller (as Ascyltus) is often on display but as far as I know (and I have watched Fellini Satyricon four or five times already) there is no such scene in the released movie.
Does anyone know why? Was the scene deleted? Indeed, the sequence on Lichas'ship is much longer in the published screenplay and while the official running time is 130 minutes, the fondazione Federico Fellini in Rimini (Italy) provides a runtime of 138 minutes. Is it likely that the Italian version is longer that the version released in the US? Are deleted scenes still in existence?
