Don't U agree?

Mario Bava's great "Hatchet For The Honeymoon" is one of the most under-rated horror movies in history!

PS Bava rocks!

It is pretty good, for sure, and probably very under-rated; I'd never heard of it until I saw it. When I first heard of Bava it was basically in reference to his influence on other directors and specifically two of his films: blood and black lace and the mask of satan. As for Hatchet, I knew it was going to be a special film experience beginning with the very first scene. Bava's obvious interest in cameras and lighting really shines through in some very fun-to-watch ways.

A really underrated movie in Mario Bava's formidable canon of work. It's nowhere near as stylistically influential as Black Sunday, Black Sabbath, Blood and Black Lace or Bay of Blood, but it's still great fun, and actually very funny in places. It would be worth seeing for Laura Betti as the evil wife Mildred alone.

Yes it is. I have a feeling that Bava´s 60´s cannon has overshadowed the films he made in the 70´s which are, IMO, just as good if not better. For instance, I consider Lisa and the Devil to be not only Bava´s masterpiece but the finest horror film ever made, and Hatchet is one of his greatest works, as it is not only visually stunning but also has a very complex and intelligent script filled with Freudian overtones.

The theater is like a faithful wife. The film is the great adventure, the costly, exacting mistress

I'd have to agree! Never heard of it until I saw it advertised on the Horror Channel. It deserves more attention. 8/10.

"Hey! Ladies! That was fun!"

Agreed. This movie is very under-rated. Visuals were great. This is getting more viewings.

I thought it was great.

It's a good film worthy of more respect and attention.

What do you think this is, a signature? It's a way of life!
