Can anyone answer this question? Was Brian Wilde (Summer Wine) one of the extras on the bus? He was sitting on the right side of the bus, wearing a cap & glasses. I can't find him credited anywhere.
Loved this movie, of course I cried. I dearly love otters & it did help to think it was 'pretend' & Mij wasn't hurt.

Just had a little peek at that scene. I can see why you thought it might be Brian Wilde - he does look quite similar. I'm almost certainly sure it wasn't though. I'm very familiar with him from watching Porridge and LotSW a lot over the years.
I know how you feel about poor little Mij - makes me cry every time you-know-what happens. I have to keep telling myself it wasn't real either or I'd end up way too upset!

Don't know about Brian Wilde, but I can tell you that the bus they used in that scene was hired from a garage in Lochgilphead, Argyll. The owner of the bus had a son (then aged about 11) who appears in the movie as one of the children who watch the otter with delight from the back seat of the bus.
