Ring of Bright Water Film Music By Frank Cordell

hello there to any one who might read this-Ring of Bright Water has a gut wrenching score and just obtained a 45 of the Original Soundtrack Performance of the Title song from the movie, sung by a man named Dee Dee Warwick-the problem I've been having is, I type in his name on a search engine and get info about Dionne Warwick's sister-does anyone know anything about this folk singer from the 60's who sang the title song which was composed by Frank Cordell-did he ever change his name so not to be confused with Dionne Warwick's sister,Dee Dee-any help would be great-or e-mail me at this [email protected].

Dear Sir:

There seems to be some confusion. There are two different versions of the soundtrack. One version features Dee Dee Warwick (female) singing the song "Ring of Bright Water". The other version features Val Doonican (male) singing the title song. One version is likely the theatrical version and the other a TV and video version. Hope this clarifies who sung what.

Best Regards,

Mike Croaro

Hi,Mike:

Thank you-I finally figured this out-I have the DVD and it was the original UK version with Val Doonican's name on the credits( also the music was not edited like the other VHS versions-it was rather confusing-all the other video versions of this film had Val singing but Dee Dee's name on the credits-so you can imagine why I would be confused-was the Dee Dee version used for the US theatrical release?? I have not seen a print of this with her version in it,does it exist??.-Kind Regards-Adam -perhaps you could e-mail me at [email protected]

The version that features Dee Dee Warwick singing the title (end credits) song
would be the US release.
(I saw this version when it came out in 1969 - TCM just showed the UK
(International) version with Val singing the tune.)
