My favorite line in the movie was spoken by Rupert Crosse as Ned McCaslin to Steve McQueen as Boone Hogganback: "Remember, I'm kin and you ain't," referring to his own genetic kinship to the McCaslin's; his geneology included both slaves and (white) masters.
