animation

I could not find any information on the Picasso-esque animation throughout the film.Did the animation department for this movie create all of the animation? Since Picasso was still alive at the time this movie was made, I was wondering if he may have assisted with the artwork. One has to wonder if Picasso ever saw the movie and what he thought...

I just got done watching it and I was thinking the same thing. Someone trying to turn out some Picasso-esque animation.

I found the film a bit long in the tooth between all the animation and that bull fight sequence. It's interesting, because artists can be pretentious, and this film came off that way.

I really found the only thing of interest was Yvette Mimieux.

I agree. I just got through watching this on TCM a few minutes ago. The animation sequences are top shelf considering the time period and they really do a good job of conveying the meaning of some of Picasso's art.
Like you, I am sad to see no mention of the animation artists here or on wikipedia. I'll do some more searching on that. While the movie is not great; the animators should have gotten some sort of nomination.

"film conceived and animation by
WES HERSCHENSOHN"

Seems Wes was the artist:

Best known for his animation work for the heaviest of hitters–Walt Disney Studios, Hanna Barbera and Filmation–Wes Herschensohn lived an incredibly accomplished life in his short 57 years. Having collaborated with Pablo Picasso on an animated short, he also conceived, animated, and co-produced “The Picasso Summer” starring Albert Finney and Yvette Mimieux for Warner Brothers, based on a Ray Bradbury story in 1969.

I'm wondering if Steven Trask saw this movie because the Origin of Love animation for Hedwig and the Angry Inch is very very similar. If anyone has seen that you will know what I mean!
