Norton Juster, the book's author, was my Mom's teacher at Hampshire College.

'Normal' is a term invented by the majority as an excuse for making fun of the minority.

Illan-Mitchell Smith. Actually, there's an interesting coincidence in there. Juster's book is about a boy named Milo. Smith starred in an independently made movie about another confused boy named Milo. It was called "Be a Perfect Person in just Three Days". Plus, also in that movie was Wallace Shawn, someone who I think would make the perfect Officer Short Shrift.
