Guillermo Del Toro should do a live-action version.

What if the guy behind "Pan's Labyrinth", "Hellboy" and "Blade 2" could do a live-action and CGI movie based on the book? it can also have elements from the original movie such as the demons becoming one huge monstrous creature like in the original movie.

And maybe by then we can finally have this movie on DVD.
