I remember a different version that looked more like stop action animation that was based on the original illustrations of the book. Does anyone else remember this?

I recently watched this on tv as I loved the book as a kid and remember my school having a 16mm print of a film. I watched this film and nothing looked familiar. I came onto this board to see if anyone else recalled a different version. A short, perhaps? Maybe with more live action incorporated?
