The Doors' 'Riders On The Storm'. Connection?

OK, this movie and rock group The Doors' atmospheric hit single "Riders On The Storm" were both released in 1970.

PS| I've just noticed the Trivia notes on the front page - the song was released the next year and allegedly influenced by this movie.

The titles of the movie and song are very similar.

The song is about a "killer on the roam". The movie contains violence and murder and is set in rainy weather which is also much evoked by the song.

The movie is set in France. Jim Morrison, The Doors' lead singer and songwriter spent a lot of time in Paris.

It's gotta be more than coincidence.
