Kind of like a soft porn Twilight Zone

This tripy flick made me think of the old Twilight Zone series of the '50s, but with a kinky twist.

Bottom line is: the entire story (with the exception of flashbacks) takes place in the afterlife because the Jimmy character is revealed to be dead near the end of the movie.

Actor James Darren did "Venus in Furs" having come straight out of US television from the sci-fi classic, "The Time Tunnel". Since it only lasted one year and was considered a commerical failure, Darren needed to do something risque and most likely sought out this type of role to get his career some much needed exposure.
