Difficult to know why this film only scores average of 6.5. Its in the same league as South Pacific or better. I gave it a 10. This would be great movie to transfer to BluRay. Come on Paramount how about doing the same excellent job 20th Century did on South Pacific.!! Lets see more musicals that cater for us baby bombers instead of titles that just cater for the PS3 demographic.

It is one film that really does demand an excellent picture. I imagine most people know it now from TV, but it was one of those films which are a different experience in the cinema. A BluRay and a large TV are as close as most of us are ever likely to get to the real thing.
I was very surprised to find that the DVD has been deleted in the US. I wonder why? It would be nice to think that it suggested a new release on the way, but DVDs aren't normally deleted to make way for BluRay, unless a Special Edition is forthcoming. Much as I'd love it, I really can't see that happening. A standard BR would seem the best we could hope for.
I wonder what is going on...
