Tracy's death disproves the code name theory

Why would the other Bonds be grieving?

Other Bonds?

Moore visits her grave in For Your Eyes Only and of course in Diamonds.

I didn't remember that. Thanks.

There are far more reasons why the code name theory is BS. (Like Brosnan and Lazenby having the same family motto)

reply

The code-name theory is just something thought up by people who have a need to fit movies about Bond made in the early sixties into some overarching framework with movies made in the 2000s... It's just as silly as making up a reason why Sherlock Holmes looked like Basil Rathbone in one movie and like Jeremy Brett in another. This business of "canon" in pop culture actually originated with the Sherlockians but it has really gotten out of hand now that rabid fans have access to every film and every episode of every series.

Of course, from Dr No to Die Another Day (or even Casino Royale) it’s very clearly the same character and story but just with different actors/time periods. Basically Dr No to DaD is one long saga about Bond, with CR being the prequel to how it all began.
