1969 poster calls lazenby far superior to his predecessor connery

a swedish 1969 poster release of this says (translating here) "lazenby by far superior to his predecessor connery". listen, i've got nothing against lazenby's portrayal, but that statement doesn't hold up and has not aged well, never in my life have i heard one solitary person say that one time bond lazenby are their favorite bond, dalton gets a better reception. many though think this is the best bond movie, i get that, and it's by far my favorite soundtrack (by john barry), if you're a fan of the british 1960s series "the avengers" you might blame this for losing emma peel (diana rigg), i wonder if that series had continued for more than one last season if she hadn't left, funny enough diana rigg before that replaced honor blackman on the avengers who left for goldfinger. i keep returning to this flick each holiday as it takes place on christmas, i can't think of another bond flick celebrating christmas, at least not to the same extent. speaking of her majesty, you know what's nuts, queen elizabeth had already been head of state for a long time when this movie was made in 1969.

when evenin sun goes down,
empty streets on concrete orange shine,
eerie fields,
shadows on city streets,
joy feel she used to bring,
brightened this old world,
now im left with a sentimental evenin sun.

LOL! Maybe if Lazenby had taken some acting classes and stayed with the Bond franchise for several more movies, he could have gotten up to Connery's caliber eventually. But in this one? Not even close.
