I've always thought he looked 36 in this, and when i found out his actual age i couldn't beleive it, Diana Rigg was older and she looked younger than him.

I agree, he looks about 35. He acts and moves a little younger but his wrinkled forehead is what makes him look a little older (IMO).

Diana Rigg looks great as always.

In general, people looked older back then. The actor who played Largo in Thunderball was 42 and look at him.

Probably a Hollywood 29. He was unknown and they were hoping to hang on to him for a while so they probably knocked 5 years or so off his age for the PR.

I'd say he looked like he was between 34 and 40. I think it's just about how healthily you live. Some people can totally wear themselves out by 30 through stress, lack of exercise, poor diet, smoking, drinking, and/or drugs. Sometimes it's just plain old genetics.

Agreed. Roger Moore in A View To A Kill (at age 57) looks younger than Lazenby in this.

Something about older movies... the people in them seem older, even if they were younger at the time than you are now as the viewer.

In this instance I think the looks were due to the after effects of some medical issues he had when he was younger. Apparently he lost a kidney when he was 2 or 3 years old... given what your kidney does, it wouldn't surprise me for him to look year older when he was 30.

People used to have a more mature demeanor and appearance. Eternal teenagers like Di Caprio were few and far-between, and not considered leading man material.

It would have made him look bad had Bruce Lee not died. With Lazenby being a year younger, people would have seen those collaborations and wondered why George looked like he was in his late thirties.
