Did Bond stay in contact with Tracy's father

After Tracy Bond's tragic death, did Bond stay in contact with her father Draco?Draco didn't appear again in the series but in between the films after OHMSS did Bond go and visit Tracy's father sometimes?

Also do you think Draco blamed Bond for Tracy's death. What do you guys think?

reply

Good questions. I've wondered about this myself. I wonder if this addressed at all in any of the Ian Fleming novels.

reply

It is not, as far as I know. As for whether Draco blames Bond for Tracy's death, I'm sure he did not. Bond saved his daughter by giving her something to live for, and I'm sure he was eternally grateful for that. If anything, Draco would have spared no effort in trying to hunt down Blofeld.
Did they stay in touch? Almost certainly, but very unofficially, since Bond still works for Secret Service and Draco is a crime-lord.

One unofficial Bond novel had Draco as the main villain in revenge for Tracy's death. I forget which one.

reply

Right.
The novel is Never Dream of Dying.

reply

Probably not. Bond was a busy guy. His relationship with Draco was a mix of business and as a father-in-law. He spent most of his time hanging out with Tracy, not Draco. I dont think he would have much reason to see Draco again after Tracy died. Their only real connection would be Tracy's death, and thats a depressing thing to bring up often in that way.

I don't think Draco blamed Bond for her death. He knew that Bond was a dangerous and protective man. He knew that he was smart under pressure and wouldnt have ever put her in danger on purpose or through negligence.

According to the John Gardner novels, Bond & Draco remained close. Draco actually acted as a sort of protector, warning other organized crime syndicates to stay clear of Bond & advising Bond. After Draco passed away and Spectre put a price on Bond's head, that protection faded. (Wish I could remember exactly which book it was).
Does that help?

reply

I could see him being an ally for Bond on future missions given his connections.

reply

Draco definitely didn’t blame Bond. Draco knew what Bond was into and was well aware of the risks, Tracy before meeting Bond was depressed and sucidal but ended up dying happy. If anything Draco would be grateful to Bond, but he never struck me as the kind of guy who would have blamed Bond.
