DOES ANYONE KNOW IF JOAN LITTLEWOOD, WHO CREATED THE VERSION OF OH, WHAT A LOVELY WAR THAT WAS STAGED IN LONDON DURING 1963, SAW THE ATTENBOROUGH FILM IN 1969? IF SO, DID SHE LEAVE ANY RECORDS OF WHAT SHE THOUGHT ABOUT IT?
murdoch1111, I'm offering this comment in a spirit of helpfulness -
I've noticed that all of your posts are written in capital letters - that's the equivalent of SHOUTING. It's not considered good computer etiquette. I can only assume you weren't aware of it.
I had a feeling you weren't doing it intentionally.

Thank you for contacting me about the matter. I am sorry for my delay in replying.
The reason I have been shouting is that I am not certain whether anyone reads either the old IMDb post about the film or the outdated inquiries, including mine.
If only all internet exchanges could be this civilized. It seems that many people have lost any sense of common decency and all manners when posting. A quick look at the IMDB boards reveals some real ugliness that most likely discourages a great deal of people with an interest in cinema from ever participating here. This was a refreshing exception and offers one some hope for the future of these boards and the free exchange of ideas. The usual pattern of a comment followed by a vicious assault is tiring and juvenile. This was an excellent lesson regarding how adults behave.
On the 2006 DVD there is a 3-part documentary about the making of the film. In part 1, in the interview of Attenborough, he discusses her decision to not be involved in the movie, characterizing it as friendly hands-off. No mention of her reaction upon later seeing it, I'm afraid.
