Maggie Smith as Music Hall Singer on Stage

Does anyone know if she sang for herself, or if her voice was dubbed?

I just watched it again (well, I watched it with commentary) and I think it is her own voice... JMHO

She's only doing that "kind of" singing talking.... like Rex Harrison in Doctor Doolittle...

It is a chilling sequence which really shows how difficult it must have been to remain at home rather than join up.
Maggie Smith is fantastic(as always) in this.

The social pressures on military-age men to enlist were huge. Soldiers on home leave found it wise to wear their uniforms when walking about outdoors, even if they did not want to, because it would be assumed that they had failed to enlist and women sometimes presented them with white feathers if they were in civilian clothes.
