movie music theme song

One thing about this movie that really made it enjoyable was the beautiful theme song that was played throughout. It really blended in well with the football scenes, the New Orleans backdrop and the love scene with the character played by Diana Muldar. Since it was a trumpet solo, I assumed Al Hirt played it since he had a small cameo role in the movie. But I have looked up all of Al Hirt's CDs and I cannot find the theme from Number One on any of them. It may have a different name or it may not have been performed by Hirt, which makes no sense. But does anyone know the name of the theme song and if it is indeed on any Al Hirt CDs or other CDs?
