Loved the movie but hated the story

I loved this movie and the theme song I find myself humming all the time. One thing I didn't agree with is when Cat leaves Anne to go back to his wife Julie. Clearly Anne loved him and accepted him for who he was and would have supported whatever he wanted.

Julie was a frigid cold B--CH. She told him all he had to do was reach across the bed if he wanted her - well he did reach across - twice in the scene when he comes back from Richie's party and trying to bandage his leg. Both times she pulled away from him. He had to finally almost rape her to make her respond to him.

As a woman, I tried to understand where Julie was coming from. You just don't pull away from a fine man like Cat Catlin for no reason. Maybe she thought he only wanted her for sex and not really love. I don't know. I just think it was cruel of him to leave Anne and go back to Julie, who in the end, even if she did love him, walked out of the stadium because clearly, she had had enough.
