I know it's just a movie but in 1969 the Saints were in their third year in the NFL, In the first two season they had won a total of 8 games. They didn't win 10 games until 1987 when they went 12-3.

It could've been worse, Tampa Bay lost their first 26 games as a new franchise over a two year span. 1976 and 1977. Their very first win came against the Saints in game 27.
