It's not clear to me if the girl is found dead or alive by Brando at the end? what you guys think?

he finds her alive then she dies when he lays her down. remember she closes her eyes. Then you get the scene where she opens her eyes on the plane signifying the premonition about the night of the following day.

There is no indication of any fatal injury or wounds to the Daughter (Pamela Franklin). What is often thought to be a bullet wound in her back, is most likely a cigar burn. Leer (Richard Boone) smoked cigars, and the whole setup suggests he was torturing her. The moment that some people think she dies, is more or less Franklin's take on shock, and of passing out from exhaustion over the whole ordeal.
