I just watched it, the Blue Underground R1 restored DVD, and in the extras, Christopher Lee explained how he wasn't on the set when the scenes of torture and depravity were shot. He said he didn't know that Jess Franco was going to include extreme and vivid torture scenes in the final cut! Thus, Christopher Lee has never seen 'The Bloody Judge' and never will, as he does not watch such scenes! Comments?

Just watched this as well on the Blue Underground dvd. Very sad. Christopher Lee took his role very serious in this movie and wanted to make something new. He also said he left horror because it got too violent.

He seems pretty squeamish for someone who witnessed a genuine execution. You would think that after that, some rubber hands and a paper-mache head covered in red paint wouldn't seem like such a big deal.
