music?

I have always loved this movie. I used to watch it a lot when I was a kid, and I hold it responsible for inspiring me to read literature by Thoreau.

I've always had a question about it though...

At one point in the movie, Bando makes a flute while he is singing in a language that is not English. He then procedes to play the tune on the flute, and we later see (and hear) Sam playing the same tune. That melody also plays during different parts of the movie -such as during the winter, when Sam is remembering being at home and thinking about how empty his little world seems -being covered in snow. If anyone has any idea what the name of the song is and its composer, I would be grateful!

It's a French Canadian song. Its story and the words may be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Un_Canadien_errant

Jean Redpath, the Scottish folksinger is among those who have recorded this song. Perhaps the best interpretation is by the Canadian folksingers Ian & Sylvia.

The song appears on the album Ian & Sylvia - Greatest Hits. It's available on CD from Amazon.com;

I know they are on youtube but I'd love to find mp3s of the songs, especially My Side of the Mountain.
I have tried goo.gl to no avail. It seems the only soundtrack recording is on old vinyl.
