Interesting movie. Nicely captured the spirit of those times

I guess for some people this movie was slow and pointless, but I found myself getting into it, because it was a pretty good reflection of those times: the reality of late-sixties life for young men symbolized by George - guys who were rather aimless, but still trying to survive, perpetually struggling while trying to figure out their own place in the cosmic chaos but trying NOT be a sell-out, either. Oh, and there was the dark cloud of the Viet Nam war and the Draft hanging over these guys' heads, too. With that in mind, I found there were lots of meaningful visuals and quotes in this movie.

I watched it twice this week and found it fascinating. Not just for the time and place, but for the characters and their motivations. I thought Gary Lockwood was terrific, and I loved the dialogue. The conversations, especially between George and Cecile, had an awkwardness that made them very natural and real.

The final moments with George on the phone were heartbreaking, and Lockwood played it beautifully -- subtle, but with the emotions still coming through.

Great film that I'll definitely revisit in the future.

It's in my top 10.
Demy was a genius.

Just watched it again tonight, and I still love it.

Laid-back, matter-of-fact, basically plotless...yet totally compelling. Everything these characters say and do is interesting. I'm actually a little peeved that I didn't discover Model Shop years ago 
