Why is this movie rated so low?

I watched this movie for the first time a few weeks ago and was surprised how much I liked it. It's very similar to "Apollo 13". The star power alone makes this movie worthwhile. The SFX were excellent. The acting was excellent. The 'will they make it?' tension was well played. Sure it's a slow movie compared to the more cynical, hyperdrive action movies of today, but I guess I prefer well-acted character-study movies like this over the 15th installment of "Batman".
