Rita Moreno

I didn't really like the movie, but I've got to say Rita Morena was just great and basically the one redeeming factor in this film. She was not only absolutely beautiful, but combines this with a wonderful performance. I mean, ofcourse she looks totally hot in the strip scene, but just try to imagine how difficult it is to do a scene like that and still be able to act the part with attitude and conviction. Great performance.

I have to agree. In addition to being flat-out sexy, her perfomance was natural and believable. And she was 38 at the time; what a spectacular beauty.

38 is hardly old. She is a great dancer. The music and her dancing in that scene make the whole movie. Strippers in those days had a whole routine and didn't just flop their implants around a pole like they do now.

I don't know if she was cast because she was 38 and the script called for an over-the-hill stripper (as far as strippers go), but she certainly didn't look it. Or maybe the part was written for a 20-something - in which case she could still pull it off given her youthful appearance.

I just think she was very glad to do it so that she could claim that she is probably the only movie stripper/murder who dies wearing her pasties and g-string while performing on stage. What a great scene!

Although she was certainly sizzling hot in the "strip" scenes, she was even more beautiful in the segments where she was shown in her off-stage hair, make-up and attire. In fact, it's my belief that this film shows Ms. Moreno at the height of her (physical) beauty and attractiveness. An outstanding acting performance as well.

I felt the same way too, I didn't like the movie, but that scene with her got my attention.

I never realized how sexy she was.

Agreed with all the Moreno praise here. I always found her brassy and annoying as an actress in virtually everything else, but she was spot-on in this movie (and wow, her strip act is... um, wow.)

Because I couldn't take my eyes off Rita Moreno in the final strip scene, I missed some key dialogue and didn't understand the ending. So I had to watch the ending again.

It wasn't exactly a hardship.
