Great?????

Well,,,, to paraphrase the late great Colonel Sherman T. Potter, "All a good movie needs is horses, cowboys and horses." I couldn't agree more. This is a watchable movie, I've seen it 3 or 4 times but I've seen "Bad Girls" 3 or 4 times also.. I would rate this movie higher but I saw the original (Man Without a Star) first,,, so I am very much in agreement with the first reviewer..

Anthony Franciosa and Michael Sarrazin are not Kirk Douglas and William Campbell, strike one.

The new version sticks to the original plot but lacks the depth and drama of the original,,, especially the drama. Too much film is wasted on small talk between the main characters, especially the bedroom scenes. I can only guess that it was a sign of times; more "skin" was needed to be competitive with other movies of that era, but it adds nothing and IMHO,,,, strike two..

The music was a bit distracting but not a strikeout..

No doubt I'll watch it again but it can't hold a candle to the original....
