Why was this film called Maidstone? I was born in a medium-sized market town called Maidstone...in Kent, United Kingdom. Has anyone any idea if there is a connection?

I haven't seen this, not being a fan of Mailers, but I think he lives in the Hamptons, on Long Island (NY) and there is a very exculsive golf club there named Maidstone...maybe that is the connection...just guessing...

Was wondering the same thing, being a Maidstone, Kent lad myself. Most likely they named it after Maidstone in Vermont, or Canada, or as said before the golf club in New York. Bloody yanks stealing all our names, get your own!
