Did anyone else watch the DVD extra regarding Pascal?

Yes. I would love to say that I understood it and be able to write an account here for you in plain English. But I didn't! I found it very complicated to listen to, but strangely interesting to see the debate between the philosopher and the priest. Of course I haven't the first clue of the implications of these arguments but ho-hum!

Liked the film though.

Yes. The priest seemed to find some humanity in Pascal that the other speaker, Brice Parain, felt was lacking. Parain describes Pascal as having an "ill-digested harshness". Both acknowledge he's a seminal influence in French literature/thinking.

I give my respect to those who have earned it; to everyone else, I'm civil.
