Well I liked it.

Sure it was no Ghost and Mr. Chicken, and Don Knotts strayed from the audience
he played for for years; This IS an ADULT film.
But the actual premise of the story was a worthy topic.

How you get a skinny, boy scout bird whistler to be a playboy Idol
is kinda funny, and the rest of the cast were quite funny too.
Ann Francis was way over the top acting, did she always act that way?

Anne Francis is normally very good. But I think even she knew this was going to be a turkey. I don't know why all of the Knott's Universal movies of this era have the look of cheap TV Shows. The clothes were cool and I love Maureen Arthur and some of the risque jokes but overall this could have been better.

I liked it too. It's not often I laugh at comedies. I had low expectations but Don Knotts is a genius with his facial expressions!
His pimp-styly clothes were super cool! I wish I had clothes like that.
Fun movie!

it's certainly better than How To Frame a Figg, or even Shakiest Gun In The West for that matter.
It's worth it just for Abner's bird song and the Mr Peacock tune.

I'm not sure this isn't my favorite Don Knotts movie. I think the satire is lost on a lot of people. Basically I think Hugh Hefner is a lot more like Don Knotts then he would want people to know; and the movie seems to be a spot on satire of the whole Playboy phenomena. The problem is that by 1969 Knotts' character had run its course. The movie struggles to be hip and make fun of hipness at the same time. BTW, did anyone notice that writer-director Nat Hiken died before the the movie was released?

Well, I hope this wasn't cause and effect!

I found this film hilarious and a real treat for the senses. The satire is dead-on perfect, and this may well be my favorite Don Knotts film. It's sweet, fairly risque, and it has some terrific musical numbers. I can see how this film didn't really find its audience in 1969, but it needs to be rediscovered as a mod treasure.

I think it's my favorite Don Knotts film. Normally, he makes me crazy unless he's playing Barney Fife. The satire was clever and well portrayed. It had some shocking/unexpected moments even for now. I agree, it's a MOD treasure.

The ending was sort of a let down; it needed a big laugh at the end.

Yes, it's probably Don's best. This is very risky and risque satire. It may have put off many of Don's fans, but also won him some new ones.

I actually wear some clothes like that (it's not easy to find clothes like that at present, unfortunately), but some of the specific stuff Knotts wore in the film I wish I had, too.

It's probably the best Don Knotts movie that I have seen. I don't think of it as an adult film though.
