Vague recollection

Can't really remember this film well,did it end with a twist?i.e were they all dead?Can somebody remind me please.

It has been a really long time since I saw this movie. But I think it ends with them on the Island trying to survive. No rescue, not dead, no twists. I remember thinking That's It?

When they all hear the radio saying that all that was found was part of the plane's wing, as the plane was so far off course, that the rescue was suspended and the plane and passengers assumed dead, they realize they will be there for a long time, they have to build a boat. So the movie ends with Bridges and the little boy(who was sick and the reason the plane turned into the Typhoon to begin with)standing on a cliff looking at the ocean. Bridges assures the kid they will "build a big boat and get off this island, but in the meantime we're going to make a better society here!" or something like that and in the closing shot, he throws the much-fought over gun into the ocean and the camera follows the gun as it splashes into the surf.

I also remember a baby crying near the end of the movie, signaling that life is going to continue on the island for a long time.

Like the previous poster said, it ends with Bridges and the boy on the cliff, then right before the fadeout cut to a closeup of Bridges getting a wicked grin on his face as he throws the brat over the edge, along with the gun!

This TV movie used to be replayed on Channel 9 or 11 in LA all the time in the early afternoon. I saw it many times in the '70s but not recently. In one of the movie review books I recall the reviewer stating that it was meant to be a pilot for a TV series that didn't get the made.

I wonder if the "Lost" producers may have seen this way back when...

I remember that movie you´re talking about. Trying to find the title, by plot searching.

After the crash, near the end of the movie, they all recall some sort of fatal accident before they boarded the plane. They were all dead during the "flight".

After Lost ended, I´ve been trying to find this movie.
