Length of film

I saw a sale of Lola which read as being 112 minutes long. The TV version has been cut and edited, such as Lola making tea and Scott leaves w/o telling her. She looks for him throughout their London apt and gets sad. Suddenly Scott appears at the fire escape and tells her they are going to NY. Lola's elated and gets dreamy. She tells Scott she loves him, and then turns to 2 window washers nearby and dreamily tells the guys she loves them. The guys look at each other baffled as Lola creeps back into her window. This is one scene that has been cut. I am sure theres more.

... and to make matters even more confusing, the three separate editions of the DVD I've found are 87, 90 and 94 minutes in length, respectively. Of those, you'd expect the Region 1 disc to be the longest, due to the slightly slower speed at which R1 discs are transferred. But no, it's the 87 mins one! Oh, and according to imdb, the film's original running time was 98 minutes, not 112 as you suggest.

My head's spinning! Can someone clear this up!

Lastly, whoever that is with Bronson on the cover of the 2005 Region 1 edition it sure as hell ain't Susan George.

I will see if I can post the link so you can see that I am not making it up.

Green, I hope you don't think I was accusing you of 'making it up'. I wasn't.

I have the old UK VHS, fully uncut and titled TWINKY. It runs 94 min PAL....so that makes it just about 98 at NTSC. When AIP picked up the film for the US they changed the title to LOLA ( to make people think LOLITA )and redubbed the soundtrack taking out the many Twinky references. VCI released a very nice widescreen VHS of the AIP version. Are any of the DVD versions widescreen?
I have not seen a DVD version but do have a cut VHS version of LOLA that only run 75 minutes

Thanks, jbern. There's details about the DVD quality and extras here, and one poster has raised a now familiar question about running time.

It is a mess but the dvdtimes story makes it worse. The Network DVD has the
1989 Rank video timing of 94min 12s (give or take a few seconds). I just
checked on my player. The "87 min" is the Orbit media 2006 rating, close
to the 88min Delta release. These shorter versions got a "12" rating.
It is debateable whether the Network release is legal since the 94min
release is still rated "15" (buy it now!)
Note also that the Rank release is the UK cinema version AS CUT.
This is hidden under the general remarks, don't be fooled by the "no cuts",
that just means "no NEW cuts".

So, the PAL Network release is the longest available, equivalent to 98min NTSC,
but still 4min (equivalent) short of the original (cut) cinema release, if the
BBFC timings are to be trusted (and they are not, certainly from that era).
Interestingly, IMDB give the run time as 98 min, which would indicate that
the Network release is just missing a few seconds of cinema cuts?

I don't know if that helps, I know my head hurts now.

It looks like Dominique Swain...who incidentally portrayed 'Lolita' on film...

Indeed it does, which begs the question: why would she be on the cover of a DVD of a film made 11 years before she was born? I have quite a keen eye for stupid mistakes on DVD (and CD) packaging, but this takes the biscuit!

I think it may be Bronson's wife, Jill Ireland, who (apparently) had a small role - "uncredited.. Girl at airport".

That cover is a Region 1 encoding so including her may be to appeal to the American audience who may not be expected to know Susan George.
