sharetwo days ago at the american cinematheque in santa monica. I don't think you missed much. it was shown with Mur Murs, a great film about LA murals. Varda was there too.

Very interesting breaking of fourth wall. Godardesque editing in parts. An excellent archive of 1969 Los Angeles. Usual Varda incorporation of time and place in the film. Structure had more promise than it delivered though. You can see her documentary style developing, but I think the Cuba movie already had that. Well worth the watch, but the themes weren't developed enough. Looking forward to Beach of Agnes. Boy, I hope though she can squeeze in a feature film soon. It would be such a gift to cinema if her next feature was her best.
