Come Winter

I just finished the sequel and found it just as fascinating and engaging a read as Last Summer. Maybe it's because unlike when I read Last Summer, which I did after having seen the movie, I didn't know what was going to happen and was on the edge of my seat, but I think this one was even more disturbing. The final thirty pages or so are positively chilling. I found a copy on abebooks for only about $5, so if you haven't read it I suggest you try to hunt it down, it's well worth the effort. I think I read somewhere that there had been plans to film this book as well, but I guess they fell through which is a shame since I think the film version of Last Summer was just as effective as its source material.

Has anyone else read the followup? Any thoughts on it?

I've also read Come Winter and agree that it's a great book, the ending was very shocking. I can't help thinking that this was just part 2 of an unfinished trilogy!! Does anyone know if the book was a success or did it fail? Did that stop the film from getting made and more books on Sandy, Peter, and David from being written.
