2014 "California Scheming" RIPOFF

I stumbled upon this movie (unfortunately) and was aghast at what a blatant ripoff this was of "Last Summer." The similarities are jaw dropping. I only kept watching to see how much of the 1969 classic they would pillage.

The opening scene shows the brunette bad girl finding an injured seagull on the beach. What? Then two horny, clueless guys happen by. Seems the seagull was hurt with a slingshot having a small nail embedded in its neck. Of course, one of the boys manages to pull the nail out so the girl decides to nurse the bird back to health which includes putting it on a leash.

She begins her seduction of the boys with booze and pills instead of pot in the original. Then "Hillary" shows up. She's not frumpy and overweight like Rhoda but she's innocent and awkward and wants to fit in.

No sense in wasting any more time with the plot because it continues to steal and twist elements of the original and I won't spoil the ending too much by saying it DOESN'T end with the rape of "Hillary" but the ending is absurd nevertheless.

Don't waste your time with this trash. See Last Summer.
