Who watches old German movies, anyway?

Unless you're from... AUSTRIA!

Once again, your name suits your reply. I've no idea if my insinuation was evident or if you were at all affirming it by noting you speak German.

Like the number of licks to the center of a Tootsie Pop, the world may never know...

The last five things I watched? Hmm... The Boondock Saints, Valkyrie, Collateral, Repo Man, and Gran Torino. Why?

I doubt it... I enjoy my fair share of foreign cinema (though I'm sure by FG standards I hardly watch any), but to me nothing quite entertains like a good ol' Michael Bay flick.

I don't know... I find myself not knowing the names of filmmakers and films FGers drop a lot of the time. Things can get pretty obscure, and I just don't see myself getting to that point for a long time...

Bad Boys 7.5/10 - Very solid buddy cop action movie.

The Rock 8.5/10 - Hell yeah. Whatever happened to Nicolas Cage being cool, anyway?

Armageddon 7.5/10 - My friend once commented that nobody can make the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people quite as entertaining as Bay.

Pearl Harbor 6.5/10 - Some good scenes, but it does get long...

Bad Boys II 8/10 - You know this is a quintessential action movie when they watch it in Hot Fuzz alongside Point Break.

The Island 7/10 - Had a sort of been there/done that feel to it, but not too bad.

Transformers 9/10 - This is true summer entertainment. Live Free or Die Hard was probably the main 2007 summer movie I had been looking forward to, but Transformers proved to be the most memorable, I think. It might just be his best work to date.

Bay isn't my favorite director or anything, his movies are just pretty consistent in their entertainment value for me. And while a lot of people hate what he represents, I'm an action junkie and mostly appreciate it.

The CGI battle at the end left me pretty cold too, but the rest I liked. LaBeouf has his detractors, but I found him charismatic enough to carry a lot of the movie. I really enjoyed a lot of the action sequences earlier on, too, the Skorpinok desert attack probably being my favorite. And yeah, I liked the actual Pearl Harbor attack, but the rest of the movie does get kind of boring.

So you said you're getting more into the FG "snobby" foreign/obscure movies? Tell me about that.

It's always awesome to hear positive feedback on my videos. I actually hadn't planned on making "How to Make a Good YouTube Video" when I made the contest entry video. I guess I just figured the title would give away that it's not serious.

It's the kind words like that that make it all worthwhile.
