But would mirror people know they see writing backwards?
That's for me one of the biggest hurdles of the film because I can understand two planets being the same but it's a mirror copy of Earth right down to organisations, people and relationships....
How could that have even happened? shouldn't their voices all be reversed too?

it's kind of a loose story, but fun never the less.
it's pretty easy to think dimentionally like perhaps there was an "atom-level" dimentional warpage they passed through while sleeping and every atom on the far side is exactly identical or mirrored on both sides... just like a mirror... except we PASSED THROUGH that dimentional/atomic level mirror and are now in wrong space. I feel that is the basic premis for the whole story (and suspension of belief or whatever it's called)
If you're ever watched the Andersons' shows, you see that explaining plots isn't their forte.

And they love long drawn out mechanical sequences with ships and craft being mde of various parts that come together... I am not knocking that I think the sequences are beautiful, but they tend to get dragged out for too long.
Yeah, that has always spoiled the Anderson shows for me. They are very imaginative, but they are just a bit too in love with their model work. Great design work, though, from guys like Derek Meddings and Mike Trim.

For them it would be natural. For exampel arabic language is written fron right to left. Chineese traditionaly write top to bottom. alo mirror writing exists for real: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mirror_writing
If you were writting backwards all your life and you wouldnt know other way existed, you woudl think that is normal. its possible they also read from right to left so they talk would not be reversed.
